Tulane Stone Center | The LAST 100

Tulane has been at the forefront of Latin American studies since the university was founded, and the centennial of Latin American studies at Tulane is nearing in 2024.

In celebration of this achievement, the Stone Center is creating a massive project that offers many resources and activities for the academic and public communities.

Albaledo Media created the visual brand for this milestone.

The Vision

In order to celebrate the circulation of ideas between two parts of the world, we focused on imagery and colors that could represent both areas, portraying a scholastic yet joyful feeling for participants.

When discussing visual branding with the Stone Center team, three words continually came into mind. These words are "exchange", "people", and "connection". From the fonts to the color palette, we used our mood board and key words to deliver a visual brand that evoked these ideas.

We designed a vibrant mood board representing both New Orleans and Latin America as well as accentuating the circulation of ideas within academia.

Branding Assets

The Stone Center requested specific assets

to accentuate the branding package. These included essay templates, powerpoint templates, name tag templates, letterheads, and more.

The Logo

Using the bright "Stone Center Orange", inspiration from Mayan stone work, and fonts created by Latin American designers, the primary logo contains the contrast needed to celebrate an achievement within and outside of academia from multiple parts of the world.

Since this logo will be used within the Tulane library system, it was very important for the logo and word mark to be able to stand on their own in black and white.
